01 / 07 · SIDE BY SIDE

What each one does.

Both read the chords from the recording and play them in time with the song. Where they part is what comes around the chords: Chordify is built around a catalogue of songs people have already played, and Chord Lens around the one video you have open, split into its parts.

Read from each one’s own pages on the date above. Where a feature needs a paid plan, the cell says so. Chordify’s plans are Basic, Premium and Premium Plus; Chord Lens’s are Free, Premium and Pro.

Other Chordify alternatives.

If neither fits, these also find chords from the audio. Chord ai hears a song through your phone’s microphone. Moises is a practice suite with stems and a Chord Finder for songs you upload. ChordU gives guitar, piano, ukulele, mandolin and bass versions of a chart. Swaram and Audelta take a YouTube link in the browser, free with no account. Yamaha’s Chord Tracker reads songs stored on an iPhone or iPad. StrumTube is a free website that takes a YouTube link and shows the chords synced to the video, for guitar and ukulele, with transpose, a capo suggestion and a tuner; verdict: the closest free match to Chordify’s chart, with no sign-up. YT Chords takes a YouTube link or an MP3 or WAV up to 5 MB and gives the chords with timestamps, the key, the BPM, synced lyrics and a track with the vocals removed, for guitar and piano (ukulele is listed as coming soon); verdict: worth a try if you want the vocals out while you read the chords. Each one, checked on its own site, is in the best chord finder apps.

03 / 07 · SWITCHING

Coming from Chordify: what maps across.

Most of what you do on Chordify has a place in Chord Lens. Chordify’s chord diagrams view is Chord Lens’s Live chords, with the shape for guitar, bass, ukulele, mandolin or piano. Its chords grid is the Grid view, one bar to a box. Chords over lyrics is the Lead view, and Lyrics shows the words alone.

Transpose, capo and tempo are on Chord Lens’s Free plan: move the key up to 12 semitones in the Studio, set a capo on guitar, ukulele or mandolin, and play from half speed to double with the pitch left where it is. A loop holds the bar you keep missing; Free saves 3 loops per song.

What doesn’t carry over: Chord Lens has no catalogue to browse, so you start from a YouTube link or your own file rather than a search of songs other people have opened. There is no Chordify import, and no MIDI download. Setlists and Chordify’s toolkit (tuner, chord trainer) have no match in Chord Lens.

What is new: stems. Split the song into vocals, drums, bass, piano, guitar and everything else, then mute your part and play it yourself while the chords run. On Free you split a 2-minute part of the song you choose, 5 times a day; splitting needs a computer.

Try one song you already know on Chordify. Paste the same YouTube link into the Studio and compare the two charts by ear before you decide.

04 / 07 · WHO IT’S FOR

Who each one is for.

Neither is the better app for everyone. They answer different questions: “what are the chords of this famous song?” and “how do I play my part over this recording?”

  • Chord Lens

    • You want to play along with the band: mute your part and keep the rest.
    • You learn from YouTube, covers and live takes included, and want the chords right on the video.
    • You want key, capo and speed without paying, or you play bass.
  • Chordify

    • You want to browse songs that already have chords, without opening a video first.
    • You mostly play on your phone and want an app from the store.
    • You want MIDI files of the chords, setlists, or a tuner and chord trainer in the same app.

05 / 07 · HOW WE CHECKED

How we checked.

We read Chordify’s own home, Premium and help pages on 23 October 2026, signed out, and linked each one below. On 3 November 2026 we re-read its App Store listing, which still names the 36,000,000-song catalogue, transposing, the capo, slowing down, looping and PDFs on Premium, and guitar, ukulele and piano views. Chordify shows prices in your local currency, so we leave them out: see its Premium page for yours. We read StrumTube’s and YT Chords’ own sites on 5 November 2026, signed out; YT Chords showed no prices.

We make Chord Lens. Every Chord Lens row comes from the Studio’s Upgrade page and our tool pages the same day.

We ran no tests and print no scores: how well either one hears your song is for your own ears. If a page changes, the date at the top tells you how old this is.

AI YouTube to Chords

Paste any YouTube link and get its chords in time, with the band behind you. Free, no card.

01Is Chord Lens a free Chordify alternative?

Yes. On the Free plan you get chords in time on any YouTube video, the shapes for your instrument, the words where the song has them, and key, capo and speed, with no ads. Premium and Pro add longer songs, longer splits and downloads. Chordify also has a free plan; the table above says what each one includes.

02Can Chord Lens read songs Chordify doesn’t have?

Chord Lens works the chords out from the recording in any public YouTube video you paste, so a cover, a live take or a video uploaded today gets chords the same way a hit does. Chordify can chordify a new YouTube link too; where it is ahead is the songs already waiting in its library.

03Does Chordify separate the instruments?

Not that its own pages say. On a paid plan Chordify lets you turn the song down and play its chords on a piano sound, but its plan pages list no stems. Chord Lens splits a song into six stems (vocals, drums, bass, piano, guitar and other) so you can mute or solo each one.

04Which one is better for a worship team?

If your team learns from YouTube recordings, Chord Lens: move the song to the key you lead in, mute the part each player covers, and add spoken cues for rehearsal with the Guide Track Maker. If your team mostly wants printable charts of well-known songs, Chordify’s library and PDF export suit that.

05Is there a Chord Lens app for my phone?

Not in the app stores. On a phone, the Chord Lens Studio installs to your home screen as a mobile web app, with the chords, the words and the sections. Splitting stems needs a computer. Chordify has apps for iOS and Android.

06Can I use both?

Yes. Many players look a song up on Chordify and open the same YouTube video in Chord Lens when they want to hear their part on its own. Both have a free plan, so trying each costs nothing.
